The Sims 4: Electronic Arts Drops New Downloadable Contents
You probably know that The Sims 4 is a very popular life simulation game developed by Redwood Shores studio of Maxis. The game was first released in 2014 by Electronic Arts. The game was first released to Windows PC, and then to the Mac computers. Upon its releases, it topped all the charts for PC games in just two years, the first of its kind to ever do so.
Since the beginning, the game was criticised for its lack of content. To tackle that, Electronic Arts releases ten expansion packs with other extensions in the form of game packs and stuff packs. Recently, they have announced a new type of downloadable contents (DLC) for The Sims 4 dubbed as kits.
What are The Sims 4 Kits?
Kits are pretty similar to the stuff packs, which are bite-sized downloadable contents with loads of extra features. In its launch, Electronic Arts released a few different kits such as Throwback Fit Kit, Country Kitchen Kit, and Bust the Dust Kit. These kits come with new outfit styling options for your characters, a kitchen makeover, and a fun dusting challenge.
Do the Kits Have Cross-pack Integration?
Some of the items in the Sims 4 already have cross-pack integrations. A good example of that is Robo Vacuum that works perfectly with the Bust the Dust kit. Many other items are expected to be compatible too in the future.
Would the Kits Affect Other Downloadable Contents?
Kits would not affect other downloadable contents in The Sims 4 such as stuff packs, game packs, extension packs, etc. There would be no supplementary kits released with the expansion packs or other packs either, as the kits will be released only with their standalone themes. Whether the kits would have any collaboration with the third-party content creators is yet to be confirmed by Electronic Arts.
