Microsoft Office Suite

The Microsoft Office Suite is a set of productivity programs developed by Microsoft Corporation. It includes a host of different software to perform tasks like word processing, designing presentations, spreadsheet tabulations, email and database management, etc. While it faces some competitions from rivals like Google Docs, Apple Pages, and so on; they are nowhere near the popularity that the MS Office Suite enjoys.

The programs included in the Microsoft Office Suite are:

  • Microsoft Word for word processing and documents design.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint to create and present graphical and interactive presentations.

  • Microsoft Outlook to manage emails and calendars.

  • Microsoft OneNote to take notes on your digital devices.

  • Microsoft Access to perform basic and advanced database management.

Microsoft offers continuous support and periodic updates to the entire suite. They also develop and release an updated version every couple of years. Usually, there are no major compatibility issues, with the newer versions capable of opening older files.

Buying or Subscribing

Microsoft Office Suite is usually licensed as a standalone package, which can be purchased and owned. There are usually different packages at different price points. Thanks to the development of cloud-based Office 365, it is now also possible to subscribe to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and the rest of the Microsoft Office programs. Subscriptions can be purchased on a monthly or yearly basis.
